Eric is a 1985 graduate of Bentley University in Waltham Massachusetts where he earned a B.S. in Accountancy.  He later received his Masters in Taxation from Bentley University.  Eric began his career with Ernst & Whinney in Portland, Maine where he remained until he helped found Dawson, Smith, Purvis & Bassett in 1990.  Eric earned the CVA (Certified Valuation Analyst) designation in 1999 and the ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation) designation in 2005.

Eric specializes in business valuation and litigation support services as well as providing accounting and tax planning and compliance services to clients in various industries.  Eric has been retained as an expert in numerous litigation matters ranging from business valuations, lost profits assessments, forensic accounting and employee embezzlement, and other complex financial matters.

Eric serves on the Board of Trustees for Thornton Academy, the Maine Red Claws Foundation, and Maine Sports Hall of Fame, and is a member of the Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution Board of Directors.  Eric enjoys coaching youth sports, golfing, reading, and spending time with his family.  He resides in Saco with his wife, Kathy, and two sons, Ian and Conor.
